While your superannuation fund may be somewhat safer than other investments if only because it is restricted, it is never entirely safe from taking losses. There is no need to panic, though, as a superannuation fund is a reasonably stable investment. The key word there is "reasonably" and that is worth keeping in mind. As long as you plan for putting enough into your superannuation fund and you get professional advice when you need it, you can reasonably expect for your superannuation fund to do well.
